—————

Hip-Hop is a genre of music that was predominantly created by African-American and Latinx communities in the early ’70s. It has undeniably become one of the most influential genres of music within the youth and popular culture. African-American and Latinx communities share many social, economic, and cultural experiences; however, the Latinx influence and credit have largely been inadvertently forgotten. I explored the topic of Latinx influence on the creation and development of Hip-Hop music and culture. I achieved this goal by creating a website highlighting Latinx influencers such as Big Pun, Fat Joe, and Daddy Yankee. The timeline spans from the 1970s to the present. The website is accompanied by a poster campaign, which serves as a way to captivate and inform the audience. The posters and website will inform Latinxs and Hip-Hop audiences alike, on the relevance and understated importance of Latinx hip-hop history and culture.
